PERFORMANCE
CHORAL THUNDER performed with Grammy award winning artist Richard
Marx at a concert benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This event,
which took place on Saturday, December 6, 2008, at The Vic Theater,
showcased the talents of Chicago's TV news anchors and reporters.
PERFORMANCE
CHORAL THUNDER once again rocked with Chicago radio personality, Jonathon
Brandmeier and his band, The Leisure Suits. The vocal ensemble shared
the stage with this well known Chicago disc jockey on Saturday, November 22,
2008, at The Venue at Harrah's Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana.
PERFORMANCE
CHORAL THUNDER performed with Chicago radio personality, Jonathon
Brandmeier, when his rock band, Johnny and the Leisure Suits, took the stage
at the Rosemont Theater on Friday, December 14, 2007. The members of Choral
Thunder lent their powerful voices to one of Brandmeier's original
songs.
TELEVISION PERFORMANCES
CHORAL THUNDER performed Christmas selections on the NBC TV Show "In the
Loop with iVillage" on Friday, November 22,
at 11 am CST (12 noon EST). "In the Loop with iVillage" is a live
interactive daytime program focusing on relevant and entertaining topics
for today's modern woman. Actress/comedian/playwright Kim Coles and TV
personalities Bill Rancic and Ereka Vetrini (both of Season 1 "The
Apprentice" fame) are the hosts of the show.
CHORAL THUNDER was featured on "SINGSATION!", a nationally syndicated
TV gospel program that was originally taped at the legendary Chicago
Theater on April 16, 2007.
CHORAL THUNDER performed at the NBC Tower Studio for the TV Taping
of "In the Loop with iVillage" on Friday, September 14, 2007. The vocal
ensemble performed Christmas songs for a show that is slated to air
nationally on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
Choral Thunder performed at the legendary Chicago Theater on April 16
& April 17 for "Singsation", the nationally-syndicated African-American-owned
and produced gospel program that broadcasts internationally on WGN-TV. On
April 16, Choral Thunder performed as part of the "Singsation!"
International Mass Choir. On April 17, Choral Thunder showcased their
own songs for the TV taping.
PERFORMANCE
Choral Thunder performed in concert at the South Holland Public Library
on February 26, 2007, as part of their Black History Month Celebration.
RADIO PERFORMANCE
CHORAL THUNDER music was used as bumpers on Carol O'Keefe's Connected
to Chicago Community Affairs Show on WLS 890 AM on Saturday, February 10,
2007, from 4 am to 5 am. The show focused on Black History Month.
TELEVISION PERFORMANCE
CHORAL THUNDER performed two songs on WGN News on January 15, 2007, to promote
their performance at the Chicago Field Museum.
PERFORMANCE
CHORAL THUNDER performed on January 13-15, 2007 at the Chicago Field Museum's
Voices of Freedom: Reigniting King's Legacy. The audience
basked in the powerful messages of Dr. Martin Luther King’s movement as the
vocal group performed a selection of inspirational music from the era.
RADIO INTERVIEW
Shelby Webb, Jr., Choral Thunder's Choir Director, was interviewed on
Carol O'Keefe's "Connected to Chicago" community affairs radio show to
promote the vocal ensemble's upcoming performance at the Chicago Field
Museum's Voices of Freedom: Reigniting King's Legacy
on January 13-15, 2007. The interview aired on Saturday, January 6,
and Sunday, January 7, 2007, on all four of ABC Radio Chicago's stations
- WLS 890 AM, 94.7 Chicago's True Oldies Channel, Radio Disney AM 1300,
and ESPN Radio 1000.
RECORDINGS & PERFORMANCES
Choral Thunder is featured on "Mythologies", the latest CD on Blue Note
Records from acclaimed singer-pianist, Patricia Barber. In April 2006,
Choral Thunder went to the Chicago Recording Company to record two songs,
"The Hours" and "Phaethon", both of which can be heard on Ms. Barber's
recently released CD. On January 7, 2006, Choral Thunder performed
these two songs with Patricia Barber at the Museum of Contemporary
Art. In a command performance, the vocal group again appeared with Ms. Barber on September 16, 2007, at Chicago's
Symphony Center.
RADIO INTERVIEW
Choral Thunder was featured as the September 2006 "Undiscovered Talent"
on Carol O'Keefe's "Connected to Chicago" community affairs radio show
that airs on all four of ABC Radio Chicago's stations - WLS 890 AM,
94.7 Chicago's True Oldies Channel, Radio Disney AM 1300, and ESPN
Radio 1000. The interview, featuring Choral Thunder music, aired
on Saturday, September 9, and Sunday, September 10, 2006.
